Peter John Carter (1954)

14 September 1943 – 18 May 2026
Peter Carter started Loughton School in 1954 and sat next to David Welford.
Peter was born, and lived all his life in in Ongar, where he was a Master Butcher. Sadly, in later years Peter succumbed to Parkinson’s Disease, but was supported by his wife Christine and their loyal and extended family.
Peter was a great family man with a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh and loved to be surrounded by his family.
His other great interest in life was the countryside and his love of Pointer dogs, with his current dog attending his funeral which took place on Friday 5th June 2026 at St. Martins Church, Ongar at 12 noon. The church was packed with family and friends and was attended several Old Loughtonians, Michael Allis, Chris Plant, Robert Cameron, Jim Kerr and Malcolm Trowbridge.
Peter will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and send the Association’s condolences to all who knew him.
