Clay Pigeon Shoot 2026
The annual Clay Pigeon Shoot took place on Thursday 18th June 2026 at Essex Shooting Ground. We were a little low on numbers this year but never the less had a great day.
With fewer participants we got through the disciplines quite quickly and adjourned to Wood Farm, Moreton, where our hosts Andrew and Margaret Gemmell hosted the buffet lunch and prizegiving.
The winner presented with the Old Loughtonian Cup on 40 points was Steve Crosby, the runner up being Peter Kerr with 34 points and the ladies prize went to Julia Wilson with 30 points.
At the time we did not have a ladies cup, but since disposing of the cups a cup was salvaged which has now been converted into the Ladies Clay Pigeon Shooting Cup, which I hope to present to Julia at the dinner this November.
It has been decided to return to Essex Shooting School at Woodside Epping as the layout of the disciplines at Fyfield had proved to be quite difficult for the average shooters.
